NPN grants for contemporary dance international co-productions with German partners (deadline: 15 Oct)
NATIONAL PERFORMANCE NETWORK (NPN) support for co-productions made with partners in Germany. Grants available up to 50% of a production's budget.
The NATIONAL PERFORMANCE NETWORK (NPN) supports the sharing of contemporary dance productions in Germany.
Co-production support was newly introduced to the scheme in 2005. Here, applications for support may be submitted not only by organisers, but also by artists or dance companies. The goal is to encourage international co-productions and co-productions between "old" and "new" federal German states. Support for a co-production can amount to as much as 50% of the production's total budget.
THE MODEL FOR SUPPORT OF INTERSTATE CO-PRODUCTIONS
The model for support of interstate co-productions is a new item in 2005. This support for transregional and international co-productions was made possible by the German Federal Cultural Foundation within the context of Tanzplan Deutschland. Applications for support to help defray production expenses may be submitted not only organizers, but also by individual artists and companies that co-produce with organizers in other federal states. The national origin of the artist and/or company is not decisive for the granting of support to co-productions. However, the applicant must live in Germany and the greater part of the production must be developed in Germany. A maximum of 50% of the production expenses can be defrayed by support given to the co-production's applicant.

Three possibilities of co-productions
* At least two partner organizations from two different "old"* federal states and one foreign partner must be involved as co-producers.* At least two partner organizations from two different "new"* federal states and one foreign partner must be involved as co-producers.* Or at least two partners, one from an "old" and another from a "new" federal state, must cooperate with one another.
* Berlin, including the eastern part of Berlin, is deemed to be an "old" federal state.
Further preconditions for Submission of an Application for Support for a Co-production
* At least one of the partners who is a producer or organizer must be a resident of Germany.* The second domestic partner can be the artist himself/herself or a dance company if the artist or the company contributes funds for the production (e.g. public support, sponsor, etc.).* The production must be largely created in Germany. (The national origins of the artist and the company are not decisive.)
