Metaphysics and Theatrecourse for actorsBudva, Montenegro (20 July - 03 August)
Artistic direction: Prof. Dr. Jurij AlschitzPedagogue: Christine Schmalor
The aim of this course will be to travel beyond the limits of traditional acting. Theatre itself is a metaphysic world, where the laws of the ordinary world do not work. This seminar proposes unusual approaches to lay open your artistic potential, in order to open the door to this unknown world.
For this theme we have chosen William Shakespeare’s late play The Tempest, which will take us to a strange land where reality has its own rules, where we understand, that our understanding is limited, where we feel that the Actor’s Art blossoms, when we reach the moment to express the inexpressible and to create “our dreams of passion” on stage.Freeing the spirit, trying to fly – but how? A special training will lead you to find new means of expression of your body, your acting, and most of all of your voice. New aspects of analysing the play will lead to new propositions on stage. By exploring the deeper meaning of the text – even of each word – you will meet with a new technique for the voice by using the internal energy of each word. It will lead us to a new territory: the meta-physics of voice and body.
The surrounding mountains, the ocean and the bright sun will help us to leave the limits of normal theatre understanding and it will help us to go beyond realistic acting, beyond what we think our limits are…

Course #2EUROPEAN ASSOCIATION FOR THEATRE CULTUREAKT-ZENT INTERNATIONAL THEATRE CENTRE
Research Centre of the Theatre Training Committee of the International Theatre Institute / Unesco
Back to Creativityvacation programme for recreation of one’s artistic potentialBudva - Montenegro (04 - 15 August)
Artistic direction: Prof. Dr. Jurij AlschitzPedagogue: Christine Schmalor
“Back to creativity” is an unusual vacation programme between the theatre seasons which offers actors and directors from different countries an opportunity to stimulate their soul and spirit, their courage and creative power, and, just as important, to regenerate their physical bodies. Theatre creation demands an extremely high input of physical and mental energy. However, the creative potential of an artist is not inexhaustible. As with other professions, theatre artists know the so-called “burn out syndrome”. Changes of surroundings, new ideas and inspiration can help rejuvenate.
“Back to creativity” provides daily training, which will concentrate on aspects of the artistic personality and energy that lead to the question: “what is beyond our physical body?” We will examine the fantastic, philosophic, metaphysic propositions of Shakespeare. Practical work with The Tempest as well as reflections on metaphysic aspects in theatre in general will give you new impulses for your own work in theatre.
There will be enough time to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding mountains and the beach of the Adriatic Sea. Reiki Master Olga Ananskich (Moscow) will join the programme with her assistants to provide massage and Reiki for participants.
Tuition fee: 420* / 500 Euro*special price for early registration valid until July 1(a place will be reserved after first payment of 120 Euro)We recommend early registration, because the seminars require intensive preparation.
